Kilikanoon,
Blocks Road Cabernet Sauvignon, 2010
Kilikanoon Blocks Road sets out to showcase what low yielding, fully ripened Clare Valley Cabernet can achieve. Selected parcels of fruit were hand harvested from two 40 year old dry grown vineyards in the Leasingham sub district of the Clare Valley before traditional vinification, basket pressing and 24 months maturation in new and older French oak hogsheads.
Well-defined black fruits with a little peppery, spicy edge. Red fruits dominate, with lingering raspberry fruit persistence, medium-bodied restraint and well-textured tannins.

Chapel Hill,
The Vicar Shiraz, 2010
Chapel Hill is based around an historic stone church, so it is appropriate that the flagship red wine for the company be named The Vicar. More wine Vicar? The Vicar has now attended six times in the history of Chapel Hill. His first visitation was in 1993, and he rose again in 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2001. He is a full bodied rich fellow, ordained with the glorious richness of Shiraz and the Reverend heavenly flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon. His complexity and richness, almost of biblical proportions combine with superfine tannins eternal in length (crafted to mature in 12-15 years). He has a devoted following and doesn't stay around for long.

Langmeil,
Freedom 1843 Shiraz, 2009
Langmeil's original vineyard, the Freedom, was planted in 1843 and survives to this day. Planted by the Lutheran forebears who were escaping religious persecution and war in Prussia, just seven years after the state of South Australia was colonised. They came to their new homeland, from Persecution to Freedom, to worship and find peace in our beloved Barossa.
The Freedom 1843 is testament to the best of the Barossa, and the determination and independent vision of the Bitter and Lindner families at Langmeil, who have farmed in the district for five generations.
